Has anyone else noticed gigantic battery life improvements on the beta conpared to 7.1.2? I used to have a dead phone by 5pm and now, at 10pm daily, my device still has 40% left most days and my usage has not changed in the least.

Is anyone else seeing such huge battery life gains?

Nope, and I doubt there's any improvements.

Chances are, your iPhone on iOS 7 was bloated with apps and services and you just recently installed iOS 8 as a clean install.

iCloud syncing, email, Facebook, Twitter,... all use a lot of battery. I guess your iOS 8 installation doesn't have Facebook installed or iCloud activated?

My battery on a 4S running iOS 8 beta 4 seems almost identical to iOS 7.1.2, I did clean install. I installed the same apps again though.

iOS 8 B4 - Huge Battery Improvements?

I Think it has getting worse from 7.1.2 to 8 beta 4.

When I am on the phone I can see the battery is draining very fast.

I took 3 percent of my battery, just to write the message.

It wasn't a clean install. If it had been I wouldn't be so surprised. I have more apps, actually.

Beta 5 seems good :) granted this is 90% with wifi on:

Displaying endless battery usage screen captures proves nothing and says nothing of a particular user's usage patterns.

Battery life in beta 5 much much better than beta 4.

All this screenshot tells me is that you are not using the phone or safari- 2 main battery hungry apps.

The phone was with the screen on the whole time using Ruby (reddit app) with constant image, gifs and videos loading, tweetbot again pictures and videos and tapatalk browsing  hell safari was used but I never made any calls :) if you see the time it was 4am, spotify streaming in high quality, several push enabled apps and 4 emails setup.

If that's not usage I don't know what it is, I'm a heavy user and this is almost the kind of usage i used to get with my note 3 (on cellular data only).

I don't think people are posting usage of the phone just unlocked mate....

I was never a fan of the iPhone battery but if they upgrade the battery on the next iphone plus the improvements on software finally whe gonna get a all day battery iphone.

Anecdotally, my battery in Beta 5 seems to last a lot longer than all previous betas. I don't remember clearly enough to say how it relates to iOS 7 though but beta 5 seems really good for battery life.

I'm not saying this applies to all users of the beta, or even most. But for me it has been such an incredible and remarkable improvement that I noticed it almost immediately after installing beta 2 (beta 1 didn't seem to effect battery life one way or another).
