So when I press the start button I see the Apple logo then when it's loaded I have a black screen until I press the home button, then I get the lock screen. Is this whats like for everyone?

Would like to know this as well. It now takes 30 seconds to boot my iPhone 5. It took about 20 with the previous 7.1 version. Also never saw black screen right after the apple logo like I'm seeing now

For some reason the Apple logo goes away while it is still loading. If you wait about 30 more seconds the home screen does appear then goes away normally.
It is a weird change though.

It is confusing. This is something Apple needs to fix.
A extended blank dark screen should be shown after the device shuts down, not before it is almost finished starting up.
