I have installed iOS 8 on my iPhone 4s and iPad air and think it's great. After a full year with iOS 7, with its countless bugs that never got fixed, graphical glitches, inconsistencies, horrible battery life, crashes and so on, I'm very happy that iOS 8 seems to have addressed a lot of those concerns.
For me, ios 8 is the bug fix release of iOS 7. It's still ugly in some places (notification centre!) but at least it's back to were we were with iOS 6 in terms of overal usability and stability. I was not sure if my next phone would be an iPhone because of iOS 7, but iOS8 has won me over. It's so fast!
Haven't used any of the new features yet (besides share sheets, which are great), as most are not supported on iPhone 4S or they are delayed. But if that means they will be stable, I'm all for it.
