iOS 8, No Dark Mode in Maps?

When using the maps app at night, I no longer have a dark mode. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Or is there some setting I'm missing?

I noticed that as well on my iPhone. Haven't tried it on the iPad yet.

Edit- just tried again and dark mode is working on both. However, on the iPad she was speaking gibberish and not real words. I had that happen on the phone the other day also as well as what she was saying plainly afterwards clearly didn't match what she was showing on the screen. I think she was drunk.

My 5s goes to night mode just fine.
