Perhaps a bit too early to ask but, how's the iPhone 4S with iOS 8? A pain to use like the 4 was before 7.1? Or just like a 4S with 7.1?

Thanks in advance!

My beta on the 4S is very unstable. But that has also to do with te fact that allot of third party app's make it very unstable.

How does the performance and speed of the phone with stock apps on 8.0 compare to the phone on 7.1.1?

The performance is significantly worse.
More than likely it'll be the last update for the 4S

Yea it is really worse. Might improve in the next versions but I also think that this is the last major update that is coming to the 4S

Damn! We all know the 4S will be dropped for iOS 9 but already showing sluggishness? That's bad... but maybe because it's beta 1...?

Well, iPhone 4 was already sluggish with iOS 7 just before it was dropped for iOS 8, so this kind of follows in a sense (although they improved things with iOS 7.1). But, realistically, yeah, hopefully it's just a beta type of thing.

At least on my end, several orders of magnitude better. Though 8 is running somewhat unstable, as others above have commented, and as expected.

And for you, how does the performance of iOS 8 beta 1 compare with 7.1.1?

I feel like it's the same as 7.1 but it freezes for a second a lot of the time when you press something, it could just be some beta code slowing it.

So you do not notice any speed improvements? Speed is the same as 7.1.1?

it is very unresponsive and crash a lot, but a fresh install makes it as fast as ios 7 but it still crashes, i guess its expected being a beta 1

Does it have all the features? Quick reply, continuity, keyboard and well, most of everything announced yesterday?

Thanks in advance.

Comments on beta 2?

Hello Everyone,
Thanks for all of your feedback, I held off installing iOS 8 beta 1 on my 4S.
Since beta 2 is out, have any of you tried it yet? is it usable now? 4S is my primary device, so I don't want install unless its usable on a daily basis.

Don't install iOS 8 on your iPhone 4S yet, even with beta 2. It's definitely a lot slower and more sluggish than iOS 7.1.2, which was running just fine on mine.

Also, it's murdering my battery and I have no clue why. I have two iPhone 4S's and both lasted about 4 to 5 days on standby running iOS 7. Now I installed iOS 8 beta 2 on one and the battery is dead in about 3 to 4 hours without any apps running and only connected to WiFi, so there is some serious issue that needs to be resolved.

I'll update this thread once beta 3 comes out and let you know if that's any better.

I'm already facing issues with my old battery, its good to know.
Thanks for your help
