Hi, I just bought my sister an iPad mini with retina display a week ago. She opened it yesterday and she used it for a while. I thought continuty was enabled (iMessages) but didn't realize it wouldn't be until this fall, so I updated her from iOS 7 to 8. Now she's complaining of extremely slow wifi. I don't think it's our network as my Note 3 connects just fine. Should I exchange the iPad?

First, try doing a "reset network settings" and see what happens. It will erase any current passwords and all of that and you'll have to reconnect to the network but this many times resolves issues like this.
I've had problems with mine dropping Wi-Fi and slow Wi-fi since the upgrade. Other threads on here suggest an iOS 8 issue

I dropped my router to 2.4GHz instead of 5GHz and this helped - I have now put back up and trying higher channels on the 5GHz mode - following advice on here again.
I assumewill release a patch soon!
