I have an app that I did testing using the simulator for iOS 8. I am currently downloading the GM for iOS 8.

When I do the upgrade, will I be able to upgrade to iOS 8.x and beyond without restoring my phone/iPad?

Is there a way to upgrade my phone to iOS 8 WITHOUT losing all the data? I want to do testing, but I don't want to have to restore my devices again.

Testing is over. This is the final release. Do an iCloud backup, install iOS 8 and restore your backup. Or just upgrade from iOS 7. If you are unsure about that, wait a week and get the update OTA.

So now this GM allows us to restore our iCloud back ups? no problems unlike the Betas (I remember a restriction in regards to backing up to iCloud)

Anyone else see the GM greyed out? I only have the option to download iOS 7

Is the GM not available OTA like the previous betas? I only ask because when I check for an update it says there isn't one.

iPad 2
Currently on iOS 8 Beta 5

It's not a beta, it's the same as a final version. Not available OTA from a beta.
