iOS 8 video "scrubber" bar doesnt show how much of a video has buffered?

So... In iOS 8, watching a video say a YouTube video in Safari. The scrubber bar just shows all black, and gives no indication of how much of the video has loaded. Anyone else? Frustrating.

I hate this. You can never tell how much you can skip-forward to.

I figured it was a bug in the default video player. Also annoying is that in the YouTube app, the scrubber bar on my Plus won't let me grab onto the handle half the time. Not sure if this is a scaling issue causing a bug or what.

...I figueed it was a bug too and then 8.0.2 came out and it's still just solid black. You think such an obvious usability bug would have been fixed right away. Sigh.
