Pretty sure this thread will be long forgotten by the time Apple starts accepting developer's app submissions for iOS8.

This thread is pointless because developers can't even enable this until just before iOS 8 is released in the fall.

The thread should be made once the widgets are available. As of now none of the "current" apps in the OP have available widgets

ios 8 will launch with the iphone 6 in sept. so really only like 3 months

You're assuming on launch day all apps will be updated to support widgets. Realistically it will take 2-3 months if not longer for developers to update their apps.

thats what right now is for. Apple will accept updates a few days before launch. Obviously every app won't be updated but a lot of the big ones will be.

I'm hoping to see the Remote app (for Apple TV) updated with widgets enabled. I would love to be able to quicky access some basic controls without having to open the app. Possibly just Play/pause, forward and back would be enough.

Now THAT'S a thread worth having!

Revival?

Saw this thread was active a few months ago, and with the iOS 8 release coming tomorrow, maybe we should give this thread life once more?

I don't think I made this thread a month ago but I'm glad to see people are helping out
