iOS 8.x supports always on VPN!

Finally after 8 revisions, it seems my iPad air 2 with iOS 8.1 keeps VPn connection on! Even when hours of sleeping the device keeps the vpn on when awoken! This is a big surprise!

My iOS8 devices disconnect from the VPN eventually like it always has done. Is this exclusively to the iPad Air 2?

i also can confirm that vpn stays on and do not disconnect like it used too, that's a welcomed fix!

It does not reconnect! It stays connected!!

My VPN is dynamic ip and if my air 2 vpn connection disconnected and reconnected my ip would change each time but it doesn't at all. I left it in for 18 hours still connected to even when iPad air 2 is sleeping. This is most welcome new feature or "it's been way too long" apple feature.

My 6+ shows me the same thing yesterday. VPN keep on for a very long period of time (including when the iPhone is locked).

I didn't notice at first but my VPN had remained active for about 3 days, I pay for a static IP VPN.
