iOS 9.0.1 email problems Ipad air

i downloaded the latest iOS to both mine and my husbands iPad. Both iPads have lost sent emails randomly since that time. I REALLY need to get them back. When I open the sent emails I get the following message "This message has not been downloaded from the server."

I hope others have had this problem and have found solutions.
