My iPad Air was running iOS 9.0. I kept getting nagged to update to 9.02 whenever I plugged it into the computer, so today I said okay, update.
After downloading and getting most of the way through applying the update, it said there was an unknown error (4013 - connection error). Tried again, same thing happened. Tried restoring factory settings, same thing again.
I've tried it on two different Macs with two different cables. Sometimes I get error code 3002 (something to do with a server error, but I don't think that's the issue here).
When the 4013 error happens, the Apple logo with progress bar shows on the iPad but vanishes immediately, as if it has disconnected.
Since I can't complete the update or revert to a previous version, the only thing the iPad will do now is show a screen with a lightning cable > arrow > iTunes logo.
The 'more information' button that comes with the iTunes error message suggest contacting Apple support, which I did but they want me to pay them for tech support! Their software update, which they nagged me to get, caused this.
Anyone have any experience fixing this sort of thing?
