Hi all,

I'm new to the forum and wondered if anyone might be interested what I've experienced while updating an iPhone 6S via USB.

If you have a 6S you might be tempted to install IOS 9.2.1 from iTunes when prompted. I had IOS 9.2.1 (build 13D15) on my phone already, but unwittingly installed IOS 9.2.1 (build 13D20) because in iTunes, it wasn't flagged up as the version that you should only install if you have a 3rd party touch-ID sensor issue.
Build 13D20 is only for the phones that bricked recently due to Apple's Error 53 challenge.

Being more into Windows than Apple products I wasted far too much time yesterday sorting this out (sweating that I didn't have to sort it out the hard way and iTunes would get me back to status quo). The attached document explains what happened and why I was somewhat perturbed during the update.

I don't know if the issue I had is one of Apple's expectations, or if I was just unlucky, but I'm fairly diligent with stuff generally, never the less, it happened to me. Hope this might help someone else out there.

Cheers
