I've just noticed that the 'erase iPhone data after 10 failed passcode attempts' is opt-in.

Was it like this before iOS 9.3?

You probably did turn it on without noticing it! Default always been off...
Yes, I did turn it on before I posted.(knowingly) I just had never noticed that it existed in earlier versions of iOS. So just to confirm - it had always been opt-in? It isn't a new feature?

Yes, it's been there for a long time now.

I noticed that the incorrect passcode delay (the delay after the 5th wrong passcode that forces you to wait 1 minute before trying again) doesn't occur on my iPhone anymore. Is this normal? I'm on 9.3, 6-digit passcode, Touch ID enabled, erase data disabled.

Works fine here as it did before (with 4 digit passcode at least). Are all of your attempts using a different PIN?

Oh jeez, that was the issue, I was entering the same wrong pin code over and over to test it. Thanks!
