My iPhone 3GS with an old iOS 5 Beta (due to not having my computer for a month) all of the sudden bricked and restarted as a brand new iPhone to be set up on iOS 5 two days ago. I went through the steps:
Slide -> WiFi -> Restore -> May take 3 minutes (pin wheel) -> servers are unresponsive, try again later -> Repeat
I also tried to restore constantly and keep getting a message that the firmware is not compatible. The last iOS Beta i had was two releases ago and none of them are compatible now. I have even tried to go back to 4.3.3 on Xcode and iTunes and its getting old. And yes i have had all of the right beta iTunes and ipsw's when i attempt to restore.
Please let me know if anyone has had the same problem and what is the best thing to do? Can the genius bar reset it clean so i can just restore from the most recent iOS 4 like normal?
Thanks
P.S. I am a part time developer who has a UDID number registered and did not pay like most others are doing to just have it in advance. I am testing with 2 other people all on different devices. I legitimately just want a phone and don't want to buy one two months before...you get what i mean.
