Hey, I think I remember reading a while back that Apple was testing a way to recover iOS without needing a Mac. Was that just rumor or just beta or did that make it. Because I could really use that right now.

That was a rumor. I believe someone found some code in a beta that suggested that this feature was being developed but it hasn't released yet nor has Apple said anything about it.
