Whether it be iOS folders on the iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch or even now LaunchPad in Lion, iOS folders are unsightly and don't tell you anything without looking at either the name or the bundle of icons. Many people overstuff folders in order to get 9 icons to fill the box so as to not leave it partially filled. But either way, you still have to look at the icons or the name.

It would be much easier if Apple had designated folder icons that could be used. Utilities, Audio, Video, Photography, Shopping, Productivity, etc as well as generic assignable colored folders for other categories. I was hoping to see something like that in iOS 5.

And BTW, MacRumors, I've said it before, but there is an iOS blog that we can't start threads in and subforums for each device, but still no master iOS subforum to discuss general iOS release features and questions that aren't particular to any one device in the iOS lineup.
