iOS iTunes backup to external drive with Catalina?

So for years i've had it setup to use my iTunes on an external hard drive, along with my iOS backups also redirecting to that drive. With Catalina beta this seemed to have stopped working, does anyone have any suggestions on how to set this up again with Catalina?
