iOS-like character palette

Just found out there's a new ios-like character selection popup when repeating keys .. for example keep pushing a to get aaaaaaaaaa and this is what you get in lion

PLEASE.. tell me there's a way to disable this!!!

It think it is an interesting feature, but I wish they would have make a key modifier for it (CTRL+holding key) or something like that.

I searched forever to figure out how to disable it...

In the terminal, enter:
defaults write -g ApplePressAndHoldEnabled -bool false
Restart computer for it to take effect.
