iOS like Notifications

Is there an app or something I can add to give me iOS like notifications?

Maybe a Growl plugin or something? There is a nice, long status bar on the top of every Mac screen that would be perfect to swivel and provide real time notifications for Twitter, Facebook, Mail, or anything you like; just like iOS.

Hm interesting but I don't know of any app like that yet, I'll be on the lookout though But how well would that work for full screen apps?

Good question... I hadn't really thought of that to be honest. I guess itd still be like in an iOS game, the actual top part of the game swivels although a status bar isn't actually there.

It's just unobtrusive while being informative.
