iOS lock screen passcode button presses too bright?

I use a passcode to unlock my phone. After updating to iOS 26, I immediately noticed that when tapping the buttons to enter my passcode, on each tap, the button lit up a lot brighter than I remember on previous versions. This seems to be a security issue, as it is very easy to see the code I'm entering to unlock my phone. I'm using the same wallpaper I've had before. I've tried changing the wallpaper to darker/lighter backgrounds, icon tints, etc. Has iOS always been this way and I'm just noticing it now, or is this new with iOS 26?
