iOS mail not accepting Yahoo password

Yahoo has required me to change my email password, which I did.
however when I update my iOS Mail, which was connected to Yahoo, to use the new password.

it would not accept it.. there were several reasons
some were.. can't connect to yahoo
others were username or password is incorrect.

I have no problem logging on from my PC.

I've also tried deleting my yahoo mail account from iOS and re-adding it.. no luck..

iOS Mail, and Mail in OS X Mavericks for that matter, have been a lot of trouble for me also with Yahoo Mail. I get the same messages from time to time and for no good reason. I don't change my password but sometimes the apps won't connect for days.
