iPhone 14 Pro iOS Music keeps defaulting to sequential (not shuffle) on CarPlay

Got a new car with CarPlay, but whenever my phone connects it always plays in sequential, not shuffle.

I can change it... each time.

There doesn't appear to be any settings I can change - can I make "shuffle" happen via Shortcuts/Automator or similar?

I have four Apple Watches that have done the same for years. Workout playlist, set to shuffle. If the phone is restarted the playlist is back to starting from beginning and sequential.
