iOS Notes widget crazy background activity causing massive battery drain

I was getting terrible battery life after updating my XS Max to iOS 14. I had a Notes widget and in the battery settings, it was telling me I had hours of Notes widget background activity. Seems like bug. There is some discussion here:

Anyway, once I removed the Notes widget, things have gotten better.

I had the same general issue right after I upgraded to iPadOS 14 on my iPad mini 5. I had the Notes widget and my battery was draining at least twice as fast as it did in iPadOS 13.x. Settings also showed that the majority of my time was spent in the Notes app, which wasn’t accurate by any means. I deleted the Notes widget and battery life is back to normal. Another stupid bug that should have been squashed long ago.
