iOS reminders wrongly showing as Past Due on the following day

On my iPhone 12 mini running iOS 16.5.1(c), when I open the pinned list labeled "Scheduled" in iOS reminders, my reminders from the previous day appear as Past Due, even though they were checked off as completed and are not actually past due. How can I stop this from happening?

did you try to disable 'show completed' in the right upper corner menu?

It doesn't explain why those items are marked as Past Due, but that worked to make the incorrect Past Due items disappear, which is all I cared about. Thanks!
