Hi everyone,
Does anyone else notice that iPhone uses cellular data for iOS system updates? The phone itself does not report this, but my cellular provider does - and charges handsomely for it. During the downloading of the updates, I was connected to good home WiFi all day, like normal. It happened with the previous system updates too. I’m connected via 1.1.1.1 VPN. I also have a **** cellular ISP, but a nice cable ISP.
I can’t be sure since I did not measure my network activity but since it happened three updates in a row, I’m assuming it’s the case.
At times with no system updates, I don’t notice any odd behavior and my usage is always low (some Apple Maps navigating and manual downloading of podcasts, which I monitor the data of, both via my cellular provider’s app and simultaneously iOS).
Can anyone corroborate that it’s either an iOS bug or a ****** cellular provider or falsify?
Thanks
