IOS update

Hello,

Can you tell me if i am doing something wrong?

Every time there is an IOS update for the iPhone or iPad why is it has to download the software each time for each iPhone i am updating (i.e. mine and my wife's)?

is there no way of downloading it once and it updating both phones?

Locate the IPSW file on your computer

Now in itunes ALT-restore(mac) or SHIFT-restore(win) to select the downloaded IPSW
