iOS18.7 and app updates

Updated to 18.7 - don´t want to install iOS26.
Then I updated several apps - without thinking.

Now some apps - e.g. Firefox and Carrot - use the new app icon with this horrendous outline.
Now I have a nice mix desaster on my homescreen. I´m a little upset now.

I thought this outline is created by iOS26 - was I wrong?

oh, that’s surprising. i thought they would only display the new app icons if the device was on ios 26. thanks for the heads up, and sorry that happened.

Apple found a way to force me to update to iOS26

Not really sure what you mean, have updated both the app and iOS but for me it looks the same. At least I think it is.
Tried both light and darkmode, the icon seem to be the same tho, white background and the firefox logo.

I only get the white same old icon witout an outline. Could it be that I have changed a setting that don't trigger dark mode 🤔
