Not sure if this is a bug somewhere in the OS, but I have an app called System Activity Monitor, and it shows some interesting stuff.
My iPhone 3GS running iOS4 was showing 85%~ idle, with the user and system jumping around quite a lot from between 5-10% each.
After rebooting the device (not switching it off) using home+power for 10 seconds or so, it goes back to what I'd consider "normal" idle, which is hovering between 95% and 96% with both user and system around 2-3% each.
It might not seem much, but to have an additional 10% idle cpu usage, is quite a lot, since I was having battery issues... and after this, I can get 7+ hours from my device with 4-5 days standby on top.
Anyone else with this app can see their cpu usage on idle?
