iOS4 + iPhone 3G = bad combination

I installed iOS4 GM last night on my 3G, but I think the OS is a bit heavy and the phone doesn't look happy about.

Guitar Hero takes ages to upload and then crashes, Twitter crashed while using iPod and then even without the iPod. I experienced occasional lag as well.

Anyone else is experiencing this?

I've had some lag, no crashes though. I think partly because I'm just used to the speed and snappiness of the iPad.

i'm loving it on my 3gs super snappy! I had beta build 1 & 2 but after 2 was sooooo buggy i jumped back to 3.1.2....but GM 4 is solid and i'm very happy, can't wait to see what it does with iPhone 4 though

considering 4.0 was designed more for 3Gs and iPhone 4 its not surprising 4.0 is laggy on a 3G, I thought the speed got better by beta 4

Actually if you jailbreak, you get all the features that are on the 3Gs iOS4.

Installed on 3G

i installed it last night on my iPhone 3G and it works perfect; no lags, no crashes. All apps are working fine for me and it feels little snappier than before especially opening and closing apps.

Restore your phone and set it up as a new phone. I suspect your problems will disappear after that.

My first-gen iPhone doesn't run 3.0 all that well so I'm almost glad I'll never be able to see it trying to run 4.0.

I'll try that. When I had just installed that was actually better than the beta, and then, later I started have lagghines and crashes.

In my case I got nice speed increase from 3.1, and so far no crashes.

I noticed my home page flipping is much quicker on my 3G. Apps launch faster but take maybe a bit longer to render the actual app content. All in all, happier with it then version 3.

Again all these features will be available when you jailbreak, you will technically have the 3Gs firmware. Same multitasking method and everything.
