iPod touch iOS4 on now previous gen iPod touch 32GB

Hey,

I have a quick question:
Does iOS4 on the now old iPod touch 32GB and 64GB models support multi-tasking?
Also, what features of iOS4 did the 32GB and 64GB models support which the 8GB model did not?
I can't find the info now that Apple have updated their pages with the new generation. I'm thinking of getting one with the Mac I'm about to get with the educational offer.
