Does anyone think we will see Beta 7 this week ? We had some dates for Beta 6 but i have not seen anything yet about 7.

Well, if you look at the previous two/three betas being released around the weekend (Friday normally), then given that this coming weekend will mark two weeks since the launch of Beta 6, it's not hard to guess that a new beta could come this weekend also.

Then again, it very well might not. No-one knows, so there's no point in asking. Even the date that was "found" in the code of Beta 5, pointing at the release of Beta 6, was out by one day.

I was wondering why we hadn't seen a repeat of the code used to try and predict the next release. I wonder have they removed it?

I'm gonna guess that if a beta 7 does not come out this weekend, that the next release will be the GM after an additional 2 weeks.

I was just typing the exact same thing mms13 and I think that's whats going to happen!

well GM usually does come out on announcement day for the new device, so that's not a hard guess

actually the GM is usually released b4 the new phone is announced. the version non-dev's can download is usually avail on the day the new phone is announced

I would think so... We just had a new beta itunes so a new iOS shortly should not be surprising.

No, the version non devs can download properly is official launch, which historically has been released on launch day bar a couple of exceptions:

iPhone 4 and iOS 4 were both released on 21/06/10

iPhone 3GS - June 19, 2009
iOS 3 - June 17, 2009

iPhone 3G - July 11, 2008
iOS 2 - July 11, 2008

If you're talking about non-devs downloading a version unofficialy that will work, that is the GM, which is usually released on the announcement of the new device.

iOS 4 GM - 07/06/10 Keynote 07/06/10
iOS 3 GM - 08/06/09 Keynote 08/06/09

Kinda weird that yesterday's iTunes beta was 6.1 and not 7.
And an other iTunes beta (7) so close to 6.1 would be a little surprising.
Maybe the next iOS beta won't have a corresponding iTunes beta.

Because that's not what the code was.
The code was most likely just the date that iOS would automatically look for an update just like iTunes checks for updates on a regular schedule.

It was 6.1 as all it did was switch on iTunes match. We will get beta 7 with iOS beta 7 as that has always lined up in this beta. I never expected yesterday's to be beta 7.

I hope soon. Beta 6 is absolutely killing my battery. I tried a fresh restore, set everything up again and it's still getting killed. About 10% an hour in standby.
