What happens when you elect to backup automatically to iCloud? Obviously you can still sync with iTunes (say for music if you're not doing the iTunes Match), but can you do a second/alternate backup to iTunes as well? And by that I mean, can you then restore from an iTunes backup?

As far as my trials went... it's one or the other.

Yes, you just have to manually backup on iTunes, it won't do it on its own when you plug it in.
