iOS5 Twitter App Beta Testing

So far it's nice. I love the fact that it's fast and fluid (Teh Snappy) so I'm happy. But I'm wondering what the "Explore" area is for.

Also, it could probably use a whole new icon, unless this one is just for the beta.

I'm working on making it parse a little bit faster, but thanks. Yes, as you can see I'm not a designer (the icon) .

The Explore area is supposed to be a way find new friends on Twitter. It displays the 20 most recent tweets from the public timeline.

Has pull to refresh.
Reply and reply all.
Retweet with options.
Favorites.
Unread badges.


Also possible to add:
Larger fonts
Clickable links inside tweets
Themes (maybe a dark theme?)
In the manage lists area, the screen will not properly scroll to reveal the lists at the bottom. It keeps popping up and you can't get to the bottom lists.
Also add an option to auto refresh.

Some of these might be in the settings section coming soon I think.

Other than that so far I like it. I wish I could make one myself.

You can click mentions and URL links inside the tweets, you cannot click #hashtags, is this what you mean?

Yes, clicking links and user names inside the tweet, instead of clicking on the tweet to go another screen. If you look at Tweetings and Twitterrific, they do this. It's a nice feature, but I'm not sure if you would be able to implement it.

Ah, I kind of modeled this App after Tweetie/Twitter for iPhone and I chose at an early route to keep the main feed view clean and clutter free like those apps. And if there is raising interest, I will include it in a future update. Its sorta a PITA at this point. Thanks though.

Yeah I know it's a PITA. You're doing good. At least you KNOW how to do this. I haven't a clue! I'd love to learn how to make an app. But the main point of your app though is that it's fast and fluid and doesn't stick when you scroll through the timeline. That's a major bonus right there.
