Ive been having trouble /w iOS6.0.1 and wifi anything (except basic connecting to router) for the last little while. I am not sure where the weak link is but I have itunes 11, iPhone 5 on 6.0.1, iPad 3 on 6.0.1, and an iPhone 3GS on 6.0.1 (SIM deactivated, wifi only).
In setting up wifi syncing, my iPhone 5 and 3GS connect like champs via wifi. The iPad3 does not. The only time itunes detects my iPad3 is if I it turn it off then back on, then its listed as a device. Note that the iPad is connect to the wifi network and can browse, etc. its just not showing up in the itunes devices list. If I plug in via USB, no issue.
I tried a complete DFU restore from itunes 11 via USB (I had done an OTA update from 5.1.1 to 6.0 to 6.0.1 initially) but it didn't fix the issue. Ive tried reseting all networks, etc. The latest itunes 11 update *seems* to have fixed this.
Similar issue with Wifi Hotspot. The iPhone 5 sets up a hotspot, my 3GS and iPod touch 1st gen running 3.1.3 connect no problem, but the iPad does not. It sees the network but just never connects. Switch over to Bluetooth hotspot and it works well again. If I fiddle wifi on and off, I can get it to connect, but it just never "works" like it used to when iPad was on 5.1.1, granted I didn't run the combo long, before that I could only bluetooth tether with the 3GS.
