iOS6 very slow Wi-Fi

I've only downloaded iOS6 on my iPad and the Wi-Fi connection is so slow. I can barely search for pages on google let alone stream videos.

I have my iPhone 4 next to me which is still on iOS5 and its a lot quicker.

Does anyone know a fix for this or is it a common problem for all the iOS6 folks?

Is there a number or email for UK Apple support that I can contact to see if they are aware of the problem? Really sucks.

For what it's worth : I have an iPhone 4 with iOS 6 and I haven't noticed any change with speeds. The only difference I can see is that when I get outside the range of the wifi and then go back in it, it takes longer for it to connect to the wifi than it used to (I sometimes have to turn wifi on/off again to make it understand that my wifi hotspot is in range again).

Weird. I have to refresh most pages at least twice. Even then some still won't load.

I have massive wifi problems on my 4S with iOS 6, but the same wifi network is perfectly fine with a 3GS with iOS 6, an iPad 2 with iOS 6 and several macs.
 
I've searched the internet and it seems this is a common problem for a lot of people. Either very slow wi-fi connections across iOS 6 devices or no connection at all.

From what I have read, people have been trying all sorts of things from resetting routers, changing internet settings and rebooting iPads and iPhones to no avail. Apple need to release an update pronto. I'm calling them later to see if they are aware of the problem, they should be!

Today i plugged in a new adsl wifi router. My Mac is fine, very good wifi speeds but my iphone 4s which previously had normal speeds is now running like a complete pig on IOS6.

Using the speedtest app i record pings of 150ms - 250ms and speeds 920kbps down and 1kbps up.

It's a joke and i dont know what is going on!
 
I too am having issues with slow wifi speeds since changing to ios6.

I was on vacation in Montana fly fishing last week, in the middle of no where with zero cell service but, our cabin has good hi-speed internet service. While there, I was using the wifi (on ios 5) for facetime calls to my wife with very good video and voice quality. On thursday, i updated to ios 6 and the facetime quality went to crap! I checked the internet speeds on a pc and they were fine. On my iphone 4s however, tests indicated a major drop in speed across wifi.......
 
Hi both

It's a common problem it turns out. It's handy that I have once device on iOS 5 and another on iOS 6 because I now know that it's iOS 6 that has caused the problem and nothing else. My iPad wi-fi was working 100% fine before installing the update.

Will see what Apple Support say about it when they call me tonight.

One thing I'll repeat though is that NONE of the troubleshooting tips and help fixed the problem.
 
Try restart your device. WiFi connection speed is a random number distributed around a certain value; restarting will change some of the random factors.

Hi All,

I've been suffering from very slow and unreliable wifi on my new iPhone 5 but ALSO on my previously reliable iPad 3 after I upgraded it to iOS 6.

I'm using two airport extremes at home and have had previously excellent wifi service throughout my home. My Macs and PC are also still performing perfectly.

Ergo it's iOS6.

After looking on the net in various forums a lot of folk seem to be suffering the same problem. Some including me, have fixed it by turning off their routers N capability. Strange but true. After turning the Airport Extremes to a, b and g only and power cycling my iOS devices all is performing well!

i have the same slow WiFi problems with my 4S after upgrading to IOS6. speed test averages around .5 mbps download. i used to get around 20-25 mbps. been on the phone with Apple numerous times about this issue and so far no help from them yet...
