Hey guys,

A friend wants me to install iOS7 GM on their phone, but I can't seem to find the correct model number to download the file. Whats going wrong, is it because its an UK phone?

I downloaded the one I thought it should be (GSM Rev A) but when i try to install it using iTunes, I get an error message telling me the software isn't compatible with the iPhone.

Whats wrong?

Thanks.

Are you sure? It's a 8GB iPhone 4 (white, if that makes a difference).

I'm at their house and they don't have the best of internet connections so I want to be sure its the correct one and not waste another hour :)

Thanks!

For the GM you need to update you iTunes software to 11.1 or it will not let you update you phone. and if want to install GM on a phone make sure you back it up to iCloud, and download the GM ipsw file, then you have to you option+restore and that you let you search for the file on the computer

iPhone 5(GSM & Global) has to be at 6.1.4
iPhone 4 &4s 6.1.3

I've done all of that, everything is up-to-date but still getting the error message that the software isn't compatible with the iPhone. Just wanted to confirm exactly which file is required for the iPhone 4 8Gb UK.

On the Dev site you'll see three builds: GSM, CDMA, and Rev A.

I'm 99% certain that the Rev A build is for 8GB GSM model iPhone 4. However, if the Rev A build isn't working then that eliminates one of the two and means it has to be the other GSM build.

So the UK i5 is CDMA and the i4 is GSM?
