Prior to upgrade all of my emails were read. Now I have a badge that says i have 8721 unread emails even though there are only 4 unread emails. Is it getting this number from the server? Could it be emails that are just sitting on my email server? How do I clear the badge? I am not reading thru 8700+ emails!

Can you do a select all > mark as read?

Did you try rebooting?

Same for me (err ... 700 emails for me): all the emails stored in my mailbox on the server came up as unreaded ....

Mine says 14,829 unread across 7 accounts. I did a clean install. This issue reported all over the Apple message boards.

Apple store personnel believe update to fix the mail prob could be pushed out tomorrow. It's a well known problem at apple he said.

Unread Emails in yahoo??

Luckily mine only says 2 but it is annoying..Hope to get a fix.. Its only in ios7 inbox. Nowhere else

I also have the same problem. I had 4 unread emails before updating to iOS 7, now it shows 79 unread emails.

I hope it gets fixed very soon.

Same thing happened to me. I actually went through and deleted all 756 of them. What a pain. I really wish there was a way to select all and then delete.

However, my daughter said the same thing happened to her in July when she purchased a iphone 5 which was running ios 6, so I don't understand why it wasn't fixed before this.
