I am following my print servers instructions and it says for mac users: change your computers IP address to the following.

How can I change my computers IP address.? Under system Preferences>Network>advanced>TCP/IP it gives me my "IPv4" address. Is this what I need to change? It doesnt give me the option to change this, its a fixed number. What do I do. I am so used to working with a PC, I cant figure this out!

I googled this, and tried to download this thing off apple which allows me to change my IP address, but then it gave me a warning when opening it, saying this might damage my system, or smoething like that. and I didnt want to risk opening it. Was I going in the right direction?
