Hi I am currently running my a wireless network that consists of a cable modem connected to a netgear WGR614 Router. The router has a Mac Mini connected to it via LAN. Also at any given time there is a my Imac, a windows running laptop, and two iphones connected on the network. The wireless connection is not encrypted or anything, however i am looking into doing that.

My problem is that the wireless connection seems to be shared unequally. The wireless will drop on all computers about every thirty seconds or so, however this doesn't happen all the time. I also received an error from my mac that says "Ip Configuration 192.168.1.10 in use by 00:1f:f3:8d:37:3c, DHCP server 192.168.1.1". I believe the later of the mac addresses is my iphone. This is a problem that has been driving me nuts for a while, I would just broadcast the wireless through the airport on the mac mini, but the strength is not good enough.

I did some research on the forum and found that someone had a problem with one of the computers using a static IP (i think thats when a computer holds the same IP address) could that be my problem? Also just so it is known i have tried to restart the router by rebooting it, that doesn't seem to change anything either. ughh Any help would be great!

thanks, Dan
