I use a MacBook to print to an printer that is hooked up to an IP network that requires an access code. In order to print, I first have to go to the Job Log option in the menu in the print window. From there I can enter the code.

This works fine in Microsoft Office applications, but when I try to print from another application (Safari, iCal, ect.), Job Log has a line through it in the menu, and selecting it brings up a message that the printer is not supported and to please make sure the latest drivers are installed (they are).

It seems to be just the Mac-native applications that are affected, is there something I can do to print from these programs?

This is not an IP printing issue. This is implementation issue with your LAN. Talk to your IT staff.
