I got an old iPhone where might be photos inside that the owner would like to have.

Connecting the 3GS to win7-laptop without iTunes showed an empty DCIM, but told that about 4GB of 13.8GB were used.

Then with iT 10.7 (maybe last version to be used with iOS4?), iT will ask to type passcode to iP.

BUT, all the time 3GS always has the text "iPhone disabled, Connect to iTunes".
Never chance to type that passcode.
Am i guessing right, that there has been so many passcode attempts that it is now forever locked?

And there is no way to unlock the phone without loosing its content?
