IP4S - Is this a problem or normal?

I've been using my 32gb 4S for a day or so now.. I've noticed one thing when switching between apps, using sms or even browsing the net that the reception bars drop completely for literally a few seconds and then return, usually happens when coming out of whatever I am doing! :confused:

Is this normal behaviour and has anyone else experienced this?? Im in the UK and on O2. Or do I have a bad apple?
