question: is the voicemail tied to the phone or the sim? i have an iphone 5 now and have some voicemail i want to save and keep. i upgraded to the 5S (backorder) using my other line's upgrade not mines. so when i swap sim when the 5S arrive, will the voicemails from my current iphone 5 stay or i'll lose it? is there a way i can save them at all? like a file or something to save?

They should all come over just fine, when you get the new phone go to your carrier store and have them do the full on equipment change (move the phone on the line you upgraded to your line) mainly because I've experienced activating a customers phone by swapping sims and it doesn't always work. So take it in and swap it

More precisely VM is tied to your carrier. The messages are not stored on your phone or with Apple, they are with your carrier.

As long as you keep the same carrier and phone# your VM travels with you.

What if you change carriers? We're moving from ATT to Sprint.

Just buy a voice recorder and record them while on speaker.

You could always try to voice memo it onto the iPhone 5S by playing it the voicemails on speaker on the 5.
