Sitting next to my old MacBook, which is indicating the best possible wifi connection, is my iPhone 5 without wifi at all. It indicates LTE. Wifi set to on. What can I do to make it use wifi in my house?

The phone is set to auto join networks. I have wifi at work and it does fine. I'm typing this on my MacBook with all bars lit up for wifi signal and the phone indicates LTE. How do I tell if 2.4 or 5?

It will indicate wifi if it's in the same room as the wireless router...

There seems to be a run of I5's that have internal antenna problems. I worked with Apple, Motorola and Verizon to sort out the problem. Vzw is sending me a replacement phone.

FWIW, I got the replacement device from VZW and it did not help at all. I took both phones around the house and they both performed identically.

I suppose there could be a compatibility issue between the i5 and the Motorola SBG6580 router.

Lastly, our i4 consistently received better wifi side by side the i5 throughout the house.

Have you jailbroken your iphone 5?
