iP6 Plus - Sounds Not Working

Anyone else having an issue with sounds (email, text) not working or only working intermittently? Worked fine on my iP5 in iOS 8 but since I've migrated to the 6+ today, I'm having issues. I've checked the settings (under sounds) and the speaker switch is on (I hear key presses and lock/unlock, etc).

It seems to be limited to email and text as far as I can tell.

noticed this earlier, and just happened now after phone call...seems when I get off a phone call, audio/sounds dont work, usually if I close the apps in multi tasking windows it comes back...must be a software bug, I hope
