Yesterday the Slide to Unlock was unresponsive. A few hard resets finally allowed it to slide to unlock. The iPad went to sleep mode and had the same unresponsive slide to unlock when it woke.

I was able to do a full backup on iTunes, but when I went to disconnect the iPad from the computer it had a black screen and was completely unresponsive. Hard resets do nothing and iTunes no longer recognizes the iPad.

The iPad was about 90% charged when this happened so I do not think it is a discharged battery. I did keep it plugged in to the wall charger overnight just in case.

My charging cable and charger are fine as they work on another iPad. iTunes also recognizes the other iPad.

I brought it to the Apple store and after the tech tried to bring up in iTunes and a hard reset did not work he said the only option was to buy a new one.

Any ideas? I have been searching Google but keep coming up with the hard reset being the only solution which is not working.

UPDATE: I decided to take it apart and disconnect and reconnect the battery. Not sure if that did it or if it was something else loose in there that I reseated but I have power and display. Still can't get the Slide to Power to work though. Back to Google unless someone has a suggestion on this issue.
