iPad 1 Games Are Crashing Randomly

I've been trying to play Trenches: Generals and Modern Combat 3 on my iPad 1 32GB.

I'm not sure whats the problem, it just crashes randomly at different times. Sometimes right from the start, sometimes in the middle of a game. I cleared my multitasking bar and rebooted my device.

Is the iPad 1 just not capable of running these games?
