Hi guyz,

First time poster here.
I got a ipad 1 version: 4.3.1

I want to update it to latest version 5.1, so wanted to know if it would be possible to jailbreak that.

If not how can I upgrade to some custom firmware of different version and jailbreak that.

Thanks for any inputs

Apple isn't signing 5.1 anymore, so if you upgrade it's going to be to 5.1.1

For the iPad 1 it's a tethered jailbreak for now.

I dont want tethered one.

Would it be possible to update it some different version which could be jailbreak, if so how.

Thanks

Jailbreak for 5.1.1 is only weeks away, a little more patience and a watchful eye on this and the iPhone hacks forum would do.

If you were jailbroken on 4.3.1 during the whole period you could have the required SHSH's to upgrade to newer firmware.

Download TinyUmbrella, in Advanced check Get SHSH form Cydia, now connect iPad and in the main TU screen get SHSH
It will show which SHSH's are saved for your iPad, you can upgrade to those upto 4.3.5
5+ and above you need the APTicket as well
