I updated my iPad 12.9 Pro 2021 the same day 15.5 came out. I usually wait a few days for the “internal tacking stock and moral reevaluating, indexing and reshuffling” bit before I complainonline….and now I have.

So I never had this issue before. Perhaps on one update, but I can’t recall which. But it’s been mostly absen since I got this iPad October last year.

But now the upper left corner (mostly) and left side get quite toasty. Seems to originate left upper corner and radiate down left spine. Prob 75% screen brightness (why don’t they show percentage…), no true tone (which I despise).

Anyone else notice this?

To be honest, last two updates I’ve felt it both a bit buggy and laggy. Within apps themselves everything is snappy (hello Lightroom). But within the iPadOS itself almost. Keyboard pop-up, switching screens, opening new apps, menu system….KEYBOARD is laggy AF. Using my external Magic Keyboard everything is super snappy typing. It even feels snappier with using an Apple Mouse instead of touch input.

I had a similar experience on my 11” iPP. Turned it off and let it cool down. After the new start everything seems to be back to normal.
